Summary

In this deeply moving and Spirit-filled Mother’s Day message, “Home Is Where the Heart Is!”, Pastor Tony Marra invites us to rethink what “home” truly means through the life and love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Drawing from John 14, Pastor Tony reminds us that home is not ultimately a building, a city, or even a feeling of comfort. Home is found in the very heart of God. Before our hearts ever longed for Him, His heart was already longing for us. Jesus Christ came not merely to prepare a future place for us, but to bring us into the shared life, love, and communion of the Triune God even now.

Jesus declares:

“In my Father’s house are many rooms… I am going to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2-3) But this “place” is more than location. It is participation in the life of God Himself. Through the Holy Spirit, the Father and the Son come to dwell within us. We are not abandoned, forgotten, or left as orphans. In Christ, God has made His home with humanity.

This message beautifully weaves together:

✨ The promise of the Holy Spirit as Counselor and Spirit of Truth

✨ The transforming gift of a new heart in Ezekiel 36

✨ The fullness of God dwelling bodily in Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:9) ✨ The breathtaking reality that we ourselves are now God’s temple (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)

Pastor Tony reminds us that discipleship is not merely about doing things for God, but about living life with Him. Love is the root. Obedience is the fruit. And the Holy Spirit is the One drawing us ever deeper into the life of Jesus.  At the center of this message is the stunning truth of perichoresis, the mutual indwelling life of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in which humanity now shares by grace through union with Jesus Christ.   God who exists eternally in love has opened His heart to us and says: “My home is your home.” Even our longing for belonging, peace, purpose, and love points beyond earthly homes toward the true home for which we were created: the heart of God revealed in Jesus Christ.

Reflective Moment:

What if the deepest longing in your life is not ultimately for a place… but for communion? What if the restlessness, distractions, worries, and searching in your heart are actually invitations from the Holy Spirit drawing you home into the life of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? Jesus does not simply prepare a place for us,  He brings us into His own relationship with the Father through the Spirit. And perhaps the greatest miracle of grace is this: the God of infinite glory has chosen to make His home in us.
