Summary

What if we've been reading the greatest commandments while missing the greatest revelation—JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF?

We know the commandments: Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. But how often have we heard these words and walked away thinking we simply need to try harder, do better, and love more?

In this powerful, deeply Christ-centered message, Pastor Richard Andrews challenges us to see what we so often overlook: Jesus is not simply the One who commands us to love, He is the One who makes that love possible!  This is not another message about trying harder to love God and others. It is about discovering WHO Jesus truly is, receiving His love, and participating through the Holy Spirit in the very love He shares with the Father!  And THAT changes EVERYTHING!

When the Pharisees questioned Jesus about the greatest commandment, they were focused on the Law. But Jesus turned their attention to something far greater—His identity as Messiah and Lord! They knew the commandments, but they failed to recognize the very One in whom God's love is perfectly revealed and fulfilled. And here is the GOOD NEWS: We cannot manufacture Christlike love through human effort, religious performance, or sheer willpower. We love because He first loved us! (1 John 4:19)  Jesus Christ, our Lord and Mediator, has accomplished for us what we could never accomplish for ourselves. Through His perfect humanity and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, we are invited to participate in His wholehearted love for the Father and His self-giving love for humanity.

When our identity is securely anchored in Christ's love, we no longer have to live from a place of insecurity, exhaustion, or the need to earn our worth. Instead, His love becomes the overflowing source from which we love, forgive, serve, and embrace others.  Pastor Richard also reminds us that genuine discipleship goes beyond religious activity or simply gathering together on Sundays. It is about sharing life in Christ, encouraging one another, and growing together in the knowledge of the One who loves us and calls us into relationship with Himself and one another.

A REFLECTIVE MOMENT:  Are we trying to produce a love that only Jesus can give? When loving someone becomes difficult, when forgiveness feels impossible, or when life's demands leave us emotionally exhausted, where do we turn? Are we relying on our own strength, or are we resting in the love of Jesus Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform how we see ourselves and others? And perhaps the most important question of all: In the midst of our responsibilities, relationships, struggles, and even our religious activities—have we lost sight of the POINT?  JESUS IS THE POINT! He is not merely our example of love. He is our Lord, our Mediator, and the One who shares His own life and love with us!

The Father loves us. The Son has given Himself for us. The Holy Spirit draws us into the life and love of God. And from that love, we are FREE to love others!

We invite you to WATCH and LISTEN to this powerful message from Pastor Richard Andrews! Discover why the Great Commandments are not simply about what God requires of us, but about WHO Jesus Christ is and what He has already made possible for us in Himself. Because when we understand WHO Jesus is, we begin to understand what it truly means to LOVE!
